Situated on unceded W̱SÁNEĆ, Lkwungen and Wyomilth territory, my recent projects investigate ownership, interactivity and ephemerality through urban interventions that spotlight the value in the abandoned. With a foundation in painting, I explore unconventional surfaces such as used tarps, poly sheets and scavenged garbage, and I work to transform the language of the flattened picture plane. The unpredictable nature of the process functions to destabilize institutional standards of what is considered ‘art’, the spatial boundaries that hold these experiences and who has access to them.
